Pitkin County seeks input for Glassier, Red Ridge
Residents who want to help draft a plan for two Emma-area open space properties can attend a meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Basalt Regional Library.
Pitkin County Open Space and Trails will form a steering committee to help draft a management plan for the Glassier and Red Ridge ranches, two adjacent open space properties off Hooks Spur Road. The plan will address recreational and agricultural opportunities, wildlife protections, parking and other issues.
The steering committee will involve about 15 people, including representation from neighboring property owners and agricultural, recreational and wildlife interests. Members must commit to one meeting a month for about six months, but input from anyone is welcome during the committee’s future discussions.
The goal Monday is to select steering committee members and establish a tentative schedule of meetings.
