Pitkin County manager, attorney earn bonuses

ASPEN – Pitkin County Manager Jon Peacock and John Ely, county attorney, each were awarded a $1,000 bonus after recent performance reviews. Pitkin County commissioners met behind closed doors to discuss the evaluations.

All county employees have been under a salary freeze, though commissioners granted $300 end-of-year bonuses in 2011 for full-time employees, at Peacock’s urging.

This year’s budget includes a 1.5 percent midyear bonus for employees rather than a salary increase. A 2 percent salary increase in 2013 also is planned.
