Rachel Richards beat Jim True for the open District 2 Pitkin County commissioner seat, while incumbent Sheriff Bob Braudis and Commissioner Patti Kay-Clapper easily withstood challenges in Tuesday’s balloting.

According to the unofficial, final results posted shortly after midnight by the Pitkin County clerk and recorder, Aspen’s plans for an improved recycling center were rejected, and newcomer Reed Lewis was the top vote-getter in a three-way race for two seats on the Snowmass Town Council. Arnie Mordkin was re-elected in Snowmass Village, while incumbent Bill Boineau lost his seat.

Both Basalt Library District measures passed and, in Eagle County, Sara Fisher was elected county commissioner. Eagle County’s Home Rule Charter was defeated.
