Pitkin County election results

Aspen Times Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

ASPEN – Jack Johnson and Rob Ittner were the top vote-getters in the race for the District 1 Pitkin County commissioner seat.

County Undersheriff Joe DiSalvo led the field in the sheriff’s race with 2,186 votes, trailed by Patrick “Rick” Leonard with 341 votes and Rick Magnuson with 301 votes.

Technological issues slowed vote counting at the county Clerk and Recorder’s office.

In the commissioner race, Johnson had 886 votes, followed by Ittner with 810. Tom Clapper had 644 votes, followed by Brian Speck with 409 votes and David Weiss with 120.

The top two candidates in both races advance to the November general election.

In the sheriff’s race, candidates are vying to replace Sheriff Bob Braudis, who is not seeking re-election. In the commissioner race, incumbent Patti Kay-Clapper, Tom’s wife, is being forced out by term limits.
