Pitkin County commissioner candidates to ‘squirm’

ASPEN ” A Squirm Night forum for Pitkin County commissioner candidates will be held Thursday in Aspen, starting at 5:30 p.m.

The event will take place at the GrassRoots Television studio, the Red Brick Arts and Recreation Center. It is open to the public.

Sponsored by The Aspen Times and Aspen Daily News, Squirm Night will be broken up into three installments ” one for each district.

District 3, pitting incumbent Michael Owsley against Shellie Roy, will begin at 5:30 p.m. Next up will be the District 4 race, with incumbent Jack Hatfield facing off against Bruce Anderson. Closing out the night will be the District 5 race, featuring candidates Dee Malone and George Newman.

Jim True, assistant attorney for the city of Aspen, will moderate the event. Editors from both Aspen newspapers will be on hand to ask the candidates questions, and audience members also will be given a chance to ask questions.
