Pitkin authorities arrest man wanted by police in Texas

A Houston man wanted in Texas for allegedly practicing medicine without a license was arrested in Pitkin County on Tuesday.Eric H. Scheffey is charged with five counts of the felony crime, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.On Thursday, the district attorney’s office in Harris County, Texas, contacted local police in an effort to locate the suspect. He is considered a flight risk, the release says.Investigators learned that Scheffey was staying at 207 Willoughby Way, just outside the city limits near Red Mountain. He was arrested around 2:30 p.m. without incident.He was being held at the Pitkin County Jail without bond. No further information was available Tuesday afternoon.
