PitCo seeks service award nominees

Each year, Pitkin County honors outstanding volunteers with the Pitkin County Service Awards. The county is accepting nominations for this year’s awards through July 28. Winners will receive recognition during a future county commissioners meeting, and on stage at the final summer concert on Fanny Hill in Snowmass Village in August.Pitkin County, the city of Aspen and town of Snowmass Village, sponsor the awards, which honor individuals and groups for leadership, service and civic involvement. The lifelong exceptional volunteer category this year will be called the Greg Mace Award, after the Mountain Rescue volunteer and Ashcroft resident who died in 1986.Other categories include children/youth, seniors, health, community pride, education, Good Samaritan, environment, rising star (18 and younger) and exceptional one-time events.
