Pitco decision applauded

(This letter was originally addressed to the Pitkin County commissioners.)

It is with the deepest and most humble gratitude that the Valley Partnership for Drug Prevention sends this thank-you for the recent vote of confidence in our work, in the amount of $40,000, from the emergency fund.

We appreciate your belief in and support of substance abuse prevention programming and parent and community education, and your goodwill toward Valley Partnership. This funding will allow us to move into our 23rd year of service to the community and continue our vibrant community education programs throughout the rest of 2003 and into 2004.

This kind of substantial financial support from elected officials is unique to Pitkin County. Valley Partnership is indeed fortunate to have your support. We promise to fulfill our role as the local prevention resource with honor and integrity.

Again, many thanks for these much needed dollars.
