Pine Creek owners full of generosity

Dear Editor:

There was a recent letter to the editor sent by a patron of the Pine Creek Cookhouse critiquing the service and attitude of the establishment. Experiences can certainly vary, but the negative impression left by the letter is far from what our experience has been. Indeed, all of us at the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club would like to express our support of the management and staff at the Pine Creek Cookhouse. John and Juliet Wilcox and their staff have always been loyal and generous supporters of the club and our programs.

For the past 20 years the Pine Creek Cookhouse has opened its doors each year in April and hosted a terrific dinner as a fundraiser for our nordic program. The evening has become a very popular tradition among the nordic community as an end of the season celebration. In addition John and Juliet have offered valuable evenings at the Pine Creek Cookhouse to the club as silent auction items for our annual Winter Whiteout Gala. John served as a board member of the club from 2001-2005 and they have had two children grow up with AVSC in our freestyle program.

We thank John and Juliet for their generosity and commitment to the club. We have always had a great experience at Pine Creek Cookhouse; it’s truly a wonderful way to enjoy the best of Aspen.

Mark Cole and John Callahan
