Picking up a wasteland

Dear Editor:As I stroll around town and enjoy the beautiful mountain views, I’m no longer surprised at all the beer bottles and cans lying along the sidewalks – especially after the X-Games and spring break weeks. So, I try to be a good citizen of our beautiful city by picking them up and putting them in the recycle containers. But what really annoys me are all the doggie bags (fully loaded) lying along the beautiful Rio Grande and Ute hiking and biking trails. I commend the dog owners for picking up their doggie’s droppings – but I would have more admiration if they would not leave them along these trails – for me to pick up!Kerry J. NewmanAspen
