Pickin’ on the help

Dear Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who helped make BANJO MAGIC a memorable event on Jan. 2. This was truly a special evening of entertainment with a strong sense of purpose. As Neil Diamond would say, “Love was in the air.”

Peter Mezoian, backed by the One Night Stand Band was flawless and captivating in his performance. Eric Mead’s casual stage presence won over the audience from the moment he stepped on the stage. Eric and Peter were not the only ones to gift their talents in this effort to Find the Cure for MS.

Majid Kahhak graced the stage and created another masterpiece in painting Peter Mezoian while he performed. This painting was acquired by Buzz and Carol Dopkin after intermission with a generous donation. Local restaurants, graphics designer Carlos Ulloa, the Derek Brown Band, Jane Bonass and her catering staff, KSNO, KSPN, the Aspen Daily News, The Aspen Times and all our benefactors and patrons were instrumental in making the evening a success. In this difficult financial point in time the people of Aspen opened their hearts and gave to help Find the Cure. BANJO MAGIC at the Wheeler was a magical evening. I thank you one and all.
