Physics lecture in Aspen

ASPEN – Robbert Dijkgraaf, a professor of mathematical physics at the University of Amsterdam and the president of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, will appear Thursday as part of the Heinz R. Pagels Memorial Lecture Series at the Aspen Center for Physics. The talk is at 5:30 p.m., and admission is free.

Dijkgraaf, who is co-chairman of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, will address issues of the environment, climate change and the opportunities that science has to contribute to society. He will also talk about the membership of the Panel on Climate Change, which is intentionally comprised of scientists from developing and developed countries.
