PHOTOS: DanceAspen digs into Food & Wine mania with performance, tasting

DanceAspen joined in on the Food & Wine Classic craze on Friday by hosting its “Take Flight” performance in the garden outside the Hotel Jerome.
On top of the short dance routines, guests took part in a wine tasting through Grounded Wine Co. Its head man, Josh Phelps, and DanceAspen founder Laurel Winton paired a particular wine with a specific dance, ending with the classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.
Performers included Samantha Altenau, Jonah Delgado, Meredith Harrill, Madeleine Scott, and Matthew Gilmore. Gilmore also choreographed the opening dance.
The upcoming DanceAspen schedule includes its third annual gala on July 12 inside the Hotel Jerome. They plan to perform at the Vail Dance Festival in Beaver Creek on Aug. 4, before debuting “Momentum” on Aug. 16 at the District Theater in Aspen.
