Staff reports

Aspen’s Fourth of July was another roaring success with red and white and blue skies as thousands lining the streets downtown for the parade.

The day started with the cannon blast from Smuggler Mine and went into the evening with concerts and family activities.

The annual parade got a treat from NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson kicking off the event doing a doughnut in his No. 48 race car.

Another beautiful day, Aspen.
