With The Aspen Times in tow, educators from the Roaring Fork Valley participated in the Teachers Across Borders program in Siem Reap, Cambodia, this summer. For six days, these teachers and administrators partnered with educators from Sweden to work with more 200 teachers in Cambodia in an effort to share educational ideas. If you have a photo of you and/or your friends or relatives with a copy of The Aspen Times in a faraway spot (west of the roundabout or east of Difficult Campground will do), send it to, and look for it in an upcoming Sunday edition.

Basalt mayoral candidate questions Basalt park expansion

Basalt mayoral candidates Bill Kane and Rob Leavitt said at a Feb. 10 forum they endorsed the town government’s $1.34 million expenditure to expand a riverfront park. Candidate and councilman Bill Infante said not so fast and provided an alternative view.
