People in need
Dear Editor:
Tough times are on us all these days, it seems. Then there are those who, when times get tough on others, it gets especially hard on them. I’m talking about the homeless, the hungry, the struggling poor and those so down and out it’s hard to quantify.
So here’s your chance to help. Ringing the bell for the Salvation Army is not only so helpful to them, but it makes you feel good and you get to see friends and even make new ones.
City Market and Clark’s are the two places we “ring the bell” in Aspen.
We would love to have anyone, including kids, adults, students, etc., help out with this great cause. If everyone in town would volunteer for an hour or more we would make a huge impact on those in need. Please come and help!
To volunteer or to contribute in place of “ringing the bell,” call Ernie Fyrwald at 618-9175 or Dot Walker at 379-2306. Or mail a donation to: Salvation Army, P.O. Box 2964, Glenwood Springs, CO 81602.
Thank you and you’ll be happy you helped!
Ernie Fyrwald

Joe Biden became the 46th president of the United States on Wednesday, declaring that “democracy has prevailed” as he took the helm of a deeply divided nation and inherited a confluence of crises arguably greater than any faced by his predecessors.
