People giving graciously

Dear Editor:I want to publicly thank local merchants and residents of Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley for their gracious support and willingness to give to Beyond Hunger (a nonprofit located in San Rafael, Calif., established to help people overcome anorexia, bulimia and binge eating). These generous individuals have significantly helped us pull together an awareness and fund-raising event to be held in the Bay Area on Sept. 19. Jayne Mosher of Jayne Mosher Design gave willingly without even meeting me her professional time to create our Sept. 19 invitation, R.S.V.P. card and envelopes; Jayne also donated a two-hour ski lesson for our silent auction. Cally of Basalt Printing generously discounted the cost to print our invitations. Mary Harris of the Woody Creek Tavern donated a meal with drinks and dessert for four at the tavern. ResortQwest donated handsomely to our silent auction. And anonymous owners have donated use of their condos in Aspen for a few nights’ stay during ski and summer season.People giving graciously is one of the numerous reasons why I think Aspen is the best. Thank you everyone for helping us.Debra Ann MayerAspen
