Aspen Times Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

GLENWOOD SPRINGS ” Rotomilling and paving work next week on Grand Avenue (Highway 82) in Glenwood Springs will mean delays for motorists traveling in both directions, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

CDOT maintenance crews will rotomill and pave from exit 116 off Interstate 70 to the Grand Avenue bridge and between 19th and 23rd streets in order to repair areas that are prone to potholes.

While work is under way, between Monday and Thursday, motorists will encounter various single-lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in both directions of Highway 82 between Interstate 70 and the Grand Avenue bridge. However, crews will not conduct work in the upvalley lanes between 7 and 9 a.m. or on downvalley lanes from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

In addition, the left lane of westbound Grand Avenue between 19th and 23rd streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving. Delays are expected throughout the week and alternate routes, such as Midland Avenue, are recommended, according to CDOT.

CDOT is urging motorists to obey traffic signs and flaggers, and to slow down in the work zone.

All work should be complete by 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, weather permitting, CDOT said.
