Pattison Esmiol, M. D., died Wednesday, March 5, 2008. He was born Feb. 2, 1932, in Colorado Springs to Morris A. Esmiol and Lucile Pattison.

He is survived by his siblings, Morris A. Esmiol, Jr. and Patty Rae Slothower. Dr. Esmiol outlived two sons, Caleb and Sam Esmiol, and leaves four children, Matthew Esmiol, Lily Minas, Elisabeth Jones and Kristina Esmiol, and two grandchildren, Molly and Lee Morris Esmiol. He also leaves his wife and soulmate of seven years, Michele Ermel, who says, “It is remarkable to have been loved by this man.”

Dr. Esmiol is an alumnus of Andover (’50), Harvard College (’54) and Harvard Medical School (’58). He prac­ticed psychiatry for 50 years, was an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and was actively practicing psy­chiatry in Glenwood Springs until shortly before his death. He is remembered with love by his clients and family.

A celebration of Dr. Esmiol’s life will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the Hotel Colorado in Glen­wood Springs.
