A local cycling cornerstone that offers youth and women’s programs throughout the year is about to throw a big party — and you’re invited.

Roaring Fork Cycling, a nonprofit formed in 2016, is hosting its annual fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Tipsy Trout in Basalt, 181 Basalt Center Circle. Funds raised will support the organization’s scholarship opportunities and defray summer programming costs, according to Roaring Fork Cycling Executive Director Kristen Heath.

The evening includes a silent auction, raffle, food, drinks, and fun.

“Our goal of the event is to bring the community together to celebrate biking and community,” she said, adding that everyone is welcome to the event. “We want to come together to both thank the community for supporting us and also have a silent auction and 50/50 raffle to help raise funds.”

She said most of Roaring Fork Cycling’s fall programming is free of charge and it takes a lot of resources and funding to pull it off.

“So any amount of money we fundraise help us to provide more opportunities to get kids (and adults) on bikes,” she said.
