Party set to help trout

Aspenites for Wildlife will host a benefit party to raise funds for whirling disease research on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Club Chelsea in Aspen.

Admission to the “casual masquerade ball” is $25 at the door and includes champagne, food, drink specials and door prizes. Masks and face painters will be available at the party, or bring your own mask. A silent auction is also planned. Advance registration is recommended; call Terry Doyle at 923-2823.

Aspenites for Wildlife is a subsidiary of the International Endangered Wildlife Museum. Whirling disease has been blamed for decimating trout populations in parts of the West, including Colorado.
