‘Parallel Lives’ receives state awards

Dear Editor:The 18th annual Colorado Theatre Festival was held last weekend in Idaho Springs. Over 200 people, representing many theatre companies, enjoyed performances by 13 companies from all over the state of Colorado. It was a true celebration of excellence in theater.A local company, Aspen Stage, presented an abbreviated version of their recent hit production, “Parallel Lives.” This outstanding production garnered first place, the People’s Choice Award, best actress (Peggy Mundinger and Wendy Perkins), and additional All State awards for direction (Brad Moore), scenic design (Tom Ward) and costumes (Peggy Mundinger). Because of this success, Aspen Stage will be representing our region in the national AACT Festival 2007.This group represented Aspen well. As president of the Colorado Community Theatre Coalition, I would like to encourage your citizens to patronize this theater group. The presence of a theater like Aspen Stage in your community only adds to the overall quality of life in Aspen.Wendy MooreCarbondale
