Paper blows off feat by hometown skater

Dear Editor:

On Sunday, Jeremy Abbott took first place at the National Skating Championships at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. This was Jeremy’s third first-place win at Nationals in four years, and his score broke all records for anyone at national championships.

I have searched the paper eagerly every day this week for news of this accomplishment by a hometown boy. The excitement over the X Games notwithstanding, I would think this achievement would merit a story in The Aspen Times.
