Pack 242 thanks you
Basalt Cub Scout Pack 242 would like to thank the following people for their generous support for our annual food drive last weekend:
• The local community, who generously donated food outside City Market in El Jebel while they were doing their weekly shopping.
• The communities of Willits, Sopris Village, Southside, Blue Lake and Basalt, which filled food bags and left them on doorsteps for the Cubs to pick up.
• El Jebowl and J’s Place, which donated their facilities and time to help the Cubs raise additional funds to supplement the efforts of the food drive.
• The volunteers for the new Lift-up Center in Basalt for helping unload, sort and, most of all, dispense the food to those in need.
The enormous generosity from our community this year will help to feed local people in need through the holidays and into the new year. The pack looks forward to providing this much-needed assistance in the years to come. If you missed this year’s event and wish to donate, please contact Basalt Lift-up at (970) 279-1492.
As the cubmaster, I would also like to thank all of the boys and parents who volunteered for the food drive. It is a true testament of the Scouting Spirit to see so many come together to help those in need.
cubmaster, Pack 242

While it may come as a surprise to exactly no one who lives in the Roaring Fork Valley, Pitkin County and Garfield County have diametrically opposite views of the state’s new red-flag gun law.
