Overcharged in Basalt

Dear Editor: Some friends and I were recently overcharged at a restaurant (that shall remain nameless) in Basalt. The subtotal shown on the receipt was higher than the actual total of items ordered, with no explanation for the additional charge. Only after disputing the charge with my credit card company was I able to recover the overcharged amount. The restaurant was quite uncooperative in answering my request for reimbursement. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and two requests for responses were ignored.Although I am not in any way trying to discredit all Basalt restaurants, I’d like to suggest to anyone dining in the area to carefully check their receipts to make sure they are being billed correctly.
