Open your mind and heart to art
Dear Editor:
To those of you with an open mind, who I would guess are most of us who choose to live in Aspen, I would hope you will join me with enthusiasm and vote yes on Question 1.
Art stimulates the mind, body, heart and soul. It opens the eyes of children on up to seniors to the realm of possibility, thought, mystery and so many other emotions.
As important as the art is the space both inside and out it is shown in. The architecture is art in itself. The building should stimulate emotion as does the art. It should be art! Take notice of the Frank Gehry designed museum in Bilbao, Spain, or the Richard Meier designed Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Whether you are inspired by their beauty or not, they are both thought provoking and attract world class art which we all can enjoy.
We, here in Aspen as well as those people who visit, have a chance to be part of a world class museum right here in our backyard. How truly blessed we are!
This proposed new museum could do for Aspen what the music tent has done here for music and the Aspen Institute for bringing great minds to Aspen.
Please join me in forward thinking towards a greater good, not only for us here and now, but for generations to come.
Open your minds and heart with a “yes” vote on 1.
Vote for art!
