Open house set for Aspen’s Yellowbrick Park

Aspen Times Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

ASPEN ” Aspen’s Yellowbrick Park is slated to go through some changes, including a shade shelter that will be built this spring near the basketball court.

The city of Aspen has scheduled an open house for the public to see and comment on the new and planned tot play area improvements at Yellowbrick Park, next to the Yellowbrick School, among other improvements.

When it was developed in 2001, Yellowbrick Park was intended to have a shade structure located at the picnic table near the basketball court. However, the construction budget did not allow for the structure at the time, and a new design has been developed to complete a small shade structure to make the picnic table more protected from the weather.

Additionally, work is scheduled to reconfigure the fenced “tot play area” to allow more direct public access to the existing play equipment and the addition of improved play equipment for day care operations for children, ages 2-5.

The open house will be held from 6-7 p.m. March 25 in the Yellowbrick Gymnasium, 215 N. Garmisch St.
