Open house on Hunter-Smuggler plan set for Thursday

ASPEN – The Aspen-Sopris Ranger District of the White River National Forest is accepting comments on the proposed projects outlined in the Hunter Creek-Smuggler Mountain Cooperative Plan this month. A public open house on the projects will take place from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Rio Grande Room, located off Galena Plaza in Aspen.
The Hunter-Smuggler planning area consists of 4,681 acres adjacent to Smuggler Mountain Open Space and private property near Aspen. The plan proposes wildlife-habitat, forest-health and recreation projects. View the plan at http://www.hunter-smugglerplan.com.
Public comments are requested by April 29; the public is invited to identify resource issues and concerns as well as how they may be addressed.
