ASPEN – Registration is under way for two of Aspen’s traditional wintertime events – America’s Uphill and the Owl Creek Chase.

The Owl Creek Chase, a 21-kilometer cross-country ski race from Snowmass to Aspen, takes place at 10 a.m. Feb. 10. Part of the Aspen Nordic Festival, the Owl Creek Chase includes tough climbs, scenic views and thrilling descents.

America’s Uphill takes place at 7 a.m. March 16 on Aspen Mountain. The course includes steep inclines and mellow plateaus and is a longtime Aspen favorite.

The race for a 2.5-mile trek up Aspen Mountain is open to snowshoers, nordic skiers, telemark skiers and randonee skiers. America’s Uphill begins at the base of Little Nell and climbs 3,267 feet up Aspen Mountain, finishing at the Sundeck restaurant at an elevation of 11,212 feet.

Registration is now open online at http://www.active.com. For details on the Owl Creek Chase, visit http://www.owlcreekchase.com. Information on America’s Uphill is available at http://www.aspenrecreation.com.
