Aspen official report: 0″ of new snow in the past 7 days.

Aspen Times field report: Another bright, sunny, warm day on the hill. Snow is pretty hardpacked in spots so it might be a good time for that mid-season tune job.

Liftline status: No liftlines and solo buckets on Aspen Mountain.

Breakdown: The weather is beautiful and warm, but we could definitely use some snow. The storms of early January are now but distant memories, so the snow they left is starting to get a bit hardpacked, though it is soft in the sun later in the morning, as we found in today’s report. Be warned though: there are definitely icy and crusty spots up there.

Snowcast: NOAA had been predicting a small storm to move into the area today, but it appears as though it will pass us by. There is a chance of clouds tomorrow, then pretty clear for the foreseeable future.
