Aspen official report: 6″ of new snow overnight, 6″ in the past 48 hours, and 6″ in the past week. Light snow, high 34°, low 25°.

Aspen Times field report: The Pineapple Express storm that ravaged California, earning the NorCal moniker #Hellastorm delivered much needed freshies to the Aspen area overnight. Aspen is claiming 5″ of fresh, Highlands and Snowmass each report 6″ and Buttermilk measured 7″ overnight, with more snow falling today. From Silver Dip to Spar on Aspen Mountain, visibility was very limited this morning, and the new, moist snow atop hard pack created some challenging conditions. Bring your clear goggles and face protection, and enjoy the new snow!
