Aspen official report: 2″of new snow on Ajax, 4″ on Snowmass and Highlands, 0″ on Buttermilk in last 24.
Aspen Times field report: Those reported 2″ on Ajax must have blown away by the morning. The conditions were a but crusty with a light dusting on top in places on Aspen Mountain this morning. It was also still really cold out. Plan accordingly.
Liftline status: Very light liftlines.
Breakdown: With temps hovering around the single digits this morning, the snow was still hard packed and the air was freezing. The temperatures are forecast to rise back into the mid-20″s today, so the snow should soften up a bit. Great day to stick to the sunny spots on the mountain.
Snowcast: NOAA is forecasting a 30% chance of snow on Tuesday night, with snow likely all the way through Saturday. To which we say, of course, RIGHT ON!
