Aspen official report: No new snow in the past 24 hours. 9″ of new snow in the past 48 hours.

Aspen Times field report: Really cold this morning! Temps in the negatives. Flat light, with flurries starting to fall when we took our 9am run. The snow is in impeccable condition though, and Aspen Mountain was like a ghost town.

Liftline status: No liftlines and solo buckets.

Breakdown: Break out the foot and hand warmers! It’s COLD again. Also, take a little extra caution on Ajax today as a large group of senior skiers are on the mountain. Good day to stay near or in the trees, where there is ample powder still there to be had from yesterdays dump.

Snowcast: The National Weather Service has issued a severe winter storm warning through 6pm on Saturday. There is a potential for up to two feet of new snow to fall in the next 48 hours, along with colder temps and strong wind gusts. Dress and plan accordingly.
