Aspen official report:

Just up the hill from Basalt, the outlet of the Reudi Reservoir dam on the Frying Pan River is LEGENDARY amongst fly fishermen thanks to the big browns and rainbow trout that ply its short meander. But consider yourself duly warned – the trout on the Pan are as wily as they are weary. Fished heavily in a Gold Metal, catch and release area, they have developed into some of the most challenging trout to catch.

Aspen Times adventure correspondent Corby Anderson casts his lot in the clear, shallow, cool waters below the dam on a beautiful September afternoon in this On The Hill segment.
