On The Hill: Aspen/Snowmass receives a nice dose of Fat Tuesday powder

VIDEO: Aspen Mountain is sporting a nice new coat of powder after yesterdays storm, just in time for the Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday festivities that overtake Snowmass later today.

ASPEN SKI COMPANY OFFICIAL REPORT: 4″ in the past 24 hours, 5″ in 48 hours and 7″ in the last 7 days. High of 28°, low of 9°.

ASPEN TIMES FIELD REPORT: After three weeks away while working the World Ski Championships over on that OTHER mountain, it feels fantastic to let the sticks run on our old lady, Aspen Mountain! The powder is legitimately buckle-high, soft and fluffy. Beware though: there is still a layer of hard crust underneath the fresh.

LIFT LINE STATUS: Refreshingly light lift lines!
