Offseason parking on the way

Parking downtown on Saturdays this offseason will be free beginning April 16. According to the Aspen Parking Department, paid parking downtown will be enforced Monday through Friday, and Sundays are already free.

In addition, carpools of two or more can park for free in designated areas around town beginning April 11. Stop by the airport parking information kiosk or the Rio Grande Parking Plaza for a carpool permit.

Aspen’s free shuttles are also changing for the offseason ” April 11 through June 9. The Cross Town, Galena Street and Maroon Creek shuttles end for the winter on April 10, returning in June. The Castle Maroon, Cemetery Lane, Hunter Creek and Mountain Valley buses will operate from 7 a.m. until midnight Mondays through Saturdays and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.

High Mountain Taxi will provide free late-night service from Rubey Park on Fridays and Saturdays during the spring season, with service available at 12:30, 1, 1:30 and 2 a.m. Taxis will drop passengers at any city bus stop, but no door-to-door service will be provided.

In the spring, High Mountain Taxi will provide on-demand service along the Cross Town Shuttle route. Service will be available from 7 a.m. to midnight Mondays through Saturdays and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays. Residents of the West End and Ute Avenue may access the service free of charge.
