Officers seize $2 million pot operation near Glenwood

Post Independent Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

GLENWOOD SPRINGS – Law enforcement officers seized a large marijuana growing operation on Cattle Creek Road outside Glenwood Springs on Thursday.

The operation included about 928 marijuana plants, most ranging from 4 to 5 feet in height, with a street value of about $2 million. It appeared the operation had been established for some time, authorities said.

The operation is the largest yet discovered in Garfield County, according to authorities, exceeding a seizure last year in Battlement Mesa that involved more than 800 marijuana plants.

TRIDENT task force officers were assisted in seizing the operation by the Garfield County All Hazards Response Team, Garfield County Sheriff’s Office and the Vail Police Department.
