Obscene waste of money

A $65 million new entrance for an affluent white haven like Aspen, funded largely by the State of Colorado, seems obscene. Particularly in light of the substantial number of highly-vocal local residents who don’t even want it.

Aren’t there some sick and needy children or some indigent aging elderly someplace that the state could assist with some of this money?
