Linda Jane Harlem

Linda Jane Harlem died on March 1, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Throughout her illness, Linda’s spirit, optimism and sense of humor never left her, giving strength and hope to her and those around her.

Linda’s proudest accomplishment and greatest joy was her daughter Sarah whom she unselfishly encouraged to follow her dreams. No one could make Linda’s face light up like Sarah could. Linda’s love of animals was legendary and over the years her menagerie of house pets included dogs, goats, otters, rodents, birds and rabbits. Also, Linda loved her horses and was an accomplished horsewoman.

In addition to Sarah, Linda is survived by her loving sisters, Helene Slansky and Ann Leber; her dear brother-in-law Stephen Leber; her nieces and nephews; her extended family of devoted friends, Gay Lewis, Judy Musser and Jim Jensen; and her guardian angels Laura Guerrero and Doug Rovira.

Linda, the world is a little less bright without your brilliant smile and twinkling earrings, but you will always be in our hearts.

A celebration of Linda’s life will take place this summer on a date to be determined.

Contributions in memory of Linda may be sent to Home Care & Hospice of the Valley; P.O. Box 3768; Basalt, CO, 81621, or Pathfinders, P.O. Box 11799, Aspen, CO. 81612.
