Jerrold S. Potter

May 31, 1938 — Jan. 8, 2017

Jerry Potter, 78, of Carbondale, CO and Indio CA, passed away at his home in Indio from complications of COPD. Jerry was born to Stanley and Evelyn Potter in North Aurora, Illinois. He moved to Colorado in 1981 moving his concrete company and employees. In 1990 he went into partnership with his stepson, David Skinner, and they formed Custom Concrete and Fabrication. They completed many large projects, including the Aspen Music Tent, Red Rocks Theater in Denver and Folsom Field in Boulder.

Jerry was an avid outdoorsman. He and Cari enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, country swing and square dancing, camping in the Colorado mountains and trips with many friends throughout the US in their motor home.

In 2002 Jerry retired and began coming to the California desert for the winters, where he enjoyed tennis and bicycling.

He is survived by Cari, daughters Vanessa Marsh (Steve), Laura Cataldo (Tony), sons Tom Cowger (Tina), Eric Potter (Michelle), stepson David Skinner, grandchildren Marissa Macias, Timothy Marsh, Alexander Marsh, Danielle Cowger, Nick Cowger, Elise Cataldo, Alexander Cataldo, Korttney Potter and stepgrandsons Scott and Michael Skinner.

Jerry’s zest for life and enthusiasm will be missed by all who knew him.
