On retirement, he moved from Silverthorne to Pine, CO, which he loved. He jumped right in by volunteering to watch and play with the children at Elk Creek Grade School while keeping the playground safe for all the kids until his death. He also volunteered to be a Rotarian for 4 years, then President of the Mountain Peace Shelter for 4 years and volunteered at ID-RA-HA-JE.
