Gary R. Peterson MD, age 76, died suddenly in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday August 18, 2018. He leaves behind his wife Nancy of 48 years of marriage; daughter, Kelly (Dave) Meyl of Fayetteville, AR; son, Scott (Cassandra) of New Albany, OH; grandchildren, Alex, Grady, Tyler, Jay, and Ashley.
Gary was a graduate of McKeesport High School, Washington Jefferson College, and Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia; where he was inducted into the 50-year Hall of Fame last fall.
He loved medicine, especially teaching residents during his years of practice in Akron, Ohio. In 1997, Gary became Medical Director of Doctors Urgent Care in Dayton, Ohio. In 2015, he and Nancy retired to Aspen Glen in Carbondale, CO. He loved Skiing, hiking, golfing, tennis, but Gary's favorite was spending time with his grandchildren when they came to Colorado. He also enjoyed activities such as the Aspen Music Festival, The World Cup, and anything that had to do with wine and cheese. His enjoyment for travel took him many places, such as, Switzerland, Austria, Morocco, Spain, Italy, Germany, Kenya, and Tanzania.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday August 26, 2018 at the Aspen Glen Country Club, 545 Bald Eagle Way, Carbondale, CO 81623, at 10am.

Gary's family would like to thank Dr. Kamal Pohar for his love and care for him, New Albany Fire and Rescue for outstanding service and care, and as well as Joe Neal at The James Cancer Hospital.
