Fleeta Rowland Baldwin
December 15, 2016
Fleeta Rowland Baldwin moved to her eternal home November 27, 2016, and is survived by her son Jeff and daughter-in-law Linda and three grandchildren, True, Kate and Emma, and her sister Jill, husband Jim, and their children, Ramie and Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her sister Roine and her brother Jack. Fleeta was born in Glenwood Springs, Colorado to Peggy and Harold "Red" Rowland and grew up in her beloved Aspen. She competed for the high school ski team, graduated valedictorian, and attended Colorado State University, where she met her husband John and graduated with honors. Shortly after she married John they moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where Fleeta taught mathematics and raised her son. After John passed away, Fleeta moved to Canon City, a town she came to love.
Throughout her life she trusted Christ and interceded constantly for others in prayer. She gave generously to pro-life causes, Christian missionaries, and relief organizations. Even after an accident left her paralyzed, she put all her hope in Christ, knowing that we can only be saved by His work on the cross and not our own efforts.
Because of her fortitude in suffering, she caused countless others to see the truth of Christianity. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
Her memorial service will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, January 5th at Canon Community Baptist Church. Memorial gifts may be sent to Worldview Academy, P.O. Box 2918, Midland, TX 79702.
Arrangements are under the care of Holt Family Funeral Home.
