Obit: Martin Brent Anderson

Martin Brent Anderson died Saturday, Oct. 16, at his home in Aspen. He was 29 years old.

Born in Newport Beach, Calif., on Nov. 18, 1969, Anderson moved to Aspen with his family and attended Aspen High School. He graduated from Fountain Valley School in Colorado Springs in 1989, according to family members.

Anderson graduated from the University of Colorado in 1992, and lived in Boulder for six years. He also lived in Mexico City, Mexico; Madrid, Spain; and New York City for short periods of time. He had recently returned to Aspen for the winter season.

He is survived by his mother and father, Mary Diane Anderson and Don Burnett; stepmother Shelby Burnett; brothers Tyler, Carlos and Manolo; sister Alix and half-sister Whitney Burnett; aunt and uncle Joan and Martin McGarry; and cousin Jenna McGarry.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Jazz Aspen at Snowmass organization.
