NRA shows its true colors

Dear Editor:

The National Rifle Association is finally exposed as totally without reason. Armed police in every school? Stupid beyond comprehension!

The issue is assault weapons, which are for assaults, of course. An armed policeman is just as vulnerable to assault by such a weapon as are children, teachers and everyone else. Or do these NRA idiots propose that all the police also be armed with assault weapons and have a policeman at every door?

Weapons for hunting, elemental self protection, target shooting – fine. But there is no justification whatsoever for common ownership of assault weapons. None!

The NRA leadership is so locked into its narrow ideology and support of the right wing that they are now shown to lack any semblance common sense and certainly no concern for the safety of small children.
