Nothing to lose, much to gain

Now is the time for all good citizens to come to the aid of the trolley.

Aspen trolleys will bring economic benefit, as they have in 23 other cities.

Trolleys are cleaner and quieter than buses.

No overhead wires to be used; tracks will be flush with the street.

Funds to restore trolleys will be private funds, not yours.

Six Victorian trolleys have been given to Aspen to be used. If Aspenites do not choose to put the trolleys into operation, they will be given to another town and Aspen will forever lose the economic benefit, not to mention the pleasure of this charming memorabilia of Aspen’s past.

Victorian trolleys were used in Aspen in the late 1880s, so let’s restore these vintage beauties to their former glory. Since it’s not taxpayer money, you have nothing to lose ? and much to gain.

Please vote yes for the trolleys on Nov. 5. Thank you.
