Note to tree killer

Dear Editor:To whoever lopped the tops off the publicly owned city of Aspen trees on East Hopkins, near the footbridge over the [Roaring] Fork, the following:You are selfish, aloof, arrogant and worthless. To kill those beautiful, mature trees like that is surely one of the most heinous acts of self-indulgence imaginable. What were you thinking? Was it just so you can see The Little Nell (the hotel, not the ski slope) unobstructed from your hideous “crimeshare” condo, you scum?Whenever I pass your yard, I will spit in your general direction. When the authorities catch up with you, I hope they put you away for a long, long time. In your next life, I hope you come back as a tree.Martin T. SuthrenAspen and Todos Santos, Baja, Mexico
