Not happy with symbolic act

Today I sent the following letter to Sen. Hillary Clinton:

Dear Senator: In July I sent you a letter complimenting you on your latest book, saying I’d probably vote for you if you ever ran for president, amongst other things. I enclosed a little stone elephant, which I made clear was not a political symbol in this case, and a photo of myself “doing my job” so you’d know I’m as grass-roots as they come (the job is actually a yoga meditation rather than a “career”).

Yesterday I received the entire package back – it got to me without a stamp (I had sent it express mail c/o your publisher). The inner envelope came back. It had obviously been opened and the elephant, which was in a felt bag, looked as though it had been ground under someone’s foot and broken up.

This symbolic act has connotations on many different levels, and I would like to know if you ever even received this package. If not, you should be aware of what the army of food tasters around every celebrity, be they rock stars or politicians, are doing to dirty your name.

I’d really appreciate a reply to this.
