North 40 park needs TLC
We are writing to address our concern for the future of the soccer field near the North 40.
As you may or may not know, the North 40 Homeowners’ Association currently spends more than $12,000 a year for maintenance, water and feces clean-up at the soccer field. We bring this up because while we’re OK with non-North 40 residents using the park, we wanted to raise awareness that the maintenance cost is entirely borne by North 40 residents, and as such, to ask for assistance from park users in keeping it nice.
This park is used by many ” residents of the North 40, visitors of the CMC campus, employees of businesses at the ABC and all of the other residences at the ABC (which will increase greatly in the near future).
The suggestion of reducing the size of the maintained portion of the park to one-fourth of its current size has been brought up by several homeowners. We do not want to do this. However, we need the cooperation of the community that uses the park. Please pick up after your pet. Please keep your pet under your control for the safety of the children (the North 40 and the county maintain a leash law). Please use the bear-proof trash cans and teach your children to do so as well.
Let’s work together to keep this fabulous space clean!
