The Aspen Chamber Resort Association is now accepting community nominations for this year’s Wintersköl Royalty.
A beloved tradition, Wintersköl Royalty honors Aspen locals who embody the community spirit, joy, and vitality of Wintersköl. Winners this year will represent the 74th annual celebration in January 2026 and carry forward one of Aspen’s longest-running winter traditions.
The first Wintersköl Queen contest took place in 1951, according to ACRA’s website, where all the ladies of Aspen took part.
“Selection was based on personality, looks, and of course, skiing ability!” the website states. “For the entire week of Wintersköl, all of the girls were required to attend various parties and cocktail receptions. Today, the Wintersköl Royalty are nominated by the community and selected based on the local residents who exemplify the Wintersköl spirit through their dedication to and involvement with the community.”
